I reciently got ATT&T dsl service.
    The modem is 2wire360
I have internet options set to allow me to acess https.
Also, Avira antivirus cannot up date.

So caling Att&t has not helped.
    My guess is the firewall....
    Thanxx

Well, Max, I would suggest a new FW.:) Check out what MG has on the freebie list; PCTools is one good one, but if you have the same problem with a new FW, then it may be something else... I am sure someone with more knowledge of this situation will be along ..

I am one that doesn't like to use Windows FW, I do prefer a 3rd party one.. Has done wonders for mine.. Best fo Luck to ya.;)

    Hi

If the Firewall is in the modem/router its not something you can change! its hardware based, either NAT or SPI.

    What Windows version you using?
Do you have a 3rd party software firewall installed like (ZoneAlarm. PCtools or basicall what is your security software including antivirus, please give version)?
What was your previous ISP and hardware used and did you uninstall it before installing the new ISP hardware?

Try this KB Article HERE and also try booting into Safe Mode (F8 at boot and choose Safe Mode with networking) and see if these steps resolve this?

    What OS are you using?

If other computer works it menas that the Modem/Router and the connection are OK.

It does not mean that the software Firewall on your computer is.

I can not give you more info since you info is not helping. :confused

Pull yourself together and explain what is that you have there. :-D

What version of IE? I ran into this exact problem last fall with somebody who had just upgraded to IE8, he couldn't get to his investment site.
Uninstalling IE8 fixed the problem immediately.
But since then I've learned how to tweak the settings in IE8 to fix this.
    So, what version?
