Please help i have no sound...

hi everyone desperatly seeking help. I completely reloaded windows XP last night from CD as my computer had to many problems... Now my sound will not work.

I downloaded EVEREST and it says my audio driver is

intel 82801db ich4 - ac'97 audio controller [b-0] PCI

i googled this to find a download but nothing will work!!

Please please help

Did you edit the Everest report to make it smaller? There seems to be a big chunk missing. We need ALL the info from the report, not just the small section about the particular issue you're having. Including the make/model of your PC would be helpful too! :-D

 

I did some research using the VERY limited info provided by the Everest report, and I think there's a real good chance that the sound driver at this link is the one you need. Let us know how it goes, and if it doesn't work, please attach the full Everest report; or you can run PC Wizard and it should provide the full make/model of your motherboard; post that info and we'll go from there.

 

whats the rest of the hardware on the PC?
not sure if this applies to you or not but when ever I update my ATI card drivers and install the sound driver for the hdmi port I loose my onboad audio no matter how i configure it i have to uninstall the ATI driver and reinstall it with out the audio hdmi but I thinks its (in my case do to incompatibility) with my onboard audio
