    Hi,
I am trying to finish the install of clam AV.
I have been told there is 2 files that need to be re-named in order for clam to work.
I know where the files are but am unsure how to proceed.

I have kept records of what has been done.
Please see thread link below for more details.

    Thank you.

This is the command, from my searching that is supposed to install clamav in ubuntu
    Code:
sudo aptitude install clamav clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam
next if you want to install GTK frontend for the Clam AntiVirus scanner in ubuntu you can install clamtk

    Download clamtk
    Code:
    wget http://puzzle.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/clamtk/clamtk_3.05-1_all.deb
    then install
    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i clamtk_3.05-1_all.deb
for any problems or errors, use the following
    Code:
    sudo apt-get -f install
    to force the install.

As far as renaming, since you didn't give a link to where you found the directions, only showing errors from terminal, I would have no idea what the two files are and where they are located.

    plodr,
Thank you, but after format and reloading again I have decided not to try using clam av.
It seems to make my system unstable.
    thank you.

I have clamav on my eeepc but have not used it nor attempted to update it. I'm limited in space because a 4GB ssd drive actually only allows me to work with 1.4 GB of room so I've decided av is not a must have item.

I read last night about the latest SUSE 11 with KDE 4.0.4 and it was said to be even sweeter than the Kubuntu.

I read that the newest SUSE 11 is not ready for primetime.
I know several people who have wiped it and gone back to 10.2

I've never run SUSE. I get an out of range video on the two computers I tried to run a live version on.
