Please Help! Mouse Freezing Up!

My mouse keeps freezing up when i hear a jingle on my computer. It happens constantly whether hooked up to net or not, safemode or regular. 1/4 of the time a small box pops up in the lower right hand corner of the screen that says "USB device not recognized" and to find out more, click on the pop up but i cant cause my mouse froze up on me. I have tried moving the mouse to another usb port but it doesnt help. This did happen about the time my hp printer started messing up and had to unhook and send back. I had also downloaded some coupon programs. I have since hooked up the another printer (a replacement that is the same as the old) and reloaded software and uninstalled everything else that i can find (the coupon programs). It hasn't helped. The only thing i havent done that chaslang told me to do is uninstall the printer because i dont know exactly which programs go with it.

I have already gotten with chaslang about malware. He doesn't think it is.

Have any ideas?
