please help! my pc has spyware, virus etc.

Hi,

I was trying to remove all spyware, viruses etc. as posted in Major Attitude's ' Read this before...' article. i got to step 4 of the 'getting prepared' section, but when trying to download the recommended tools in this section, my internet browser stops responding and shuts down. i tried too many times but this keeps happening.

Please can you tell me what i should now do to resolve the problem with my computer.

The problems with my computer are that it keeps crashing especially when using any microsoft office tools, it is really slow, i keep getting constant pop ups, since doing steps 1-3 of the 'getting prepared' section my internet browser a few times has decided to 'not respond'.

through initially running microsoft beta 1 spyware remover, i found that there are spyware/virus things on my computer, but usually it successfully removes them. but there are now spyware/virus things which when instructed to be removed, always crash the spyware remover tool; so they are still installed!

Sorry for my bad computer language!

Please help asap!!!

just one quick question(or two)maybe three. . .

Is it your home Computer
and what OS?
(Version of windows)
Are you able to boot into safemode with networking?
