PLEASE HELP! My scanner is not working

Hey Guys,

As i am quite new at all this computer stuff, this is probably a really easy question with a really easy solution, only i cant see it, so much help would be very much appreciated.

when i brought my computer i also brought a canon printer, which is a scanner inclueded when i first hooked it up it worked fine but that is because i had it running through MP Navagater now all my photos are in my pictures so i closed MP Nav for it was of no use to me anymore.

Now the printer prints and copies but it wont scan.
How can i scan docs with out re-loading MP Nav because that just wastes my disc space by doubling up???

ok i guess ill have to load MP Nav up again and start from scratch
