Please HELP, New T Site

I am new to this site, and am very glad that i have found it...first of all I own a toshiba satelite laptop, with XP, everything was working fine until I downloaded SP2, now for some reason my cd-r does not write anymore, is there a driver that I need to upgrade if so can someone direct me to where and what I need to do

is there a model number on that laptop?

 

toshiba satelite 1805-S207`laptop I called toshiba and they said that they did not have and update, so what I am wondering is if there might be a driver out there that would be compatible.....thank you so much for your help, it is greatly appreciated

what software are you using to write to the CDR?

 

try reinstalling the program that is being used to burn the software. i had problems with nero doing the same thing when i installed sp1 a while back but after reinstalling nero it all works again. and by reinstalling this time just don't overwrite it actually remove the whole thing then install it.

one other IDEA when you DL service pack 2 it backs up the file system from service pack 1,,,if you know the file name,,,do a system search,,,,
