I'm not even sure if this is a driver problem. I own an Acer Aspire 3680 Running Windows Vista Home. Last night I installed some new ram, booted up to make sure it installed properly, which it did, surfed the net for a minute, I'm pretty sure I had sound at this point and just turned the computer off for the night. I woke up today and noticed that I had no sound. So I went over the basic checks, looked at my drivers, I uninstalled and reinstalled my sound driver. Checked for updates. I did notice I had two drivers that were in " ! " Which one was like High Definition Internal Audio Bus or something, so I got the driver to fix that it was something to do with Modem or something And I also had a " ! " on Mass Storage or something, Either way they both got fixed. Thought one of those might be the problem and nothing has changed I'm out of idea's can anyone help me?

Try a system restore to a day or two before you noticed the sound problem....

Hmmmm.... well, you did the system restore.... go ahead and uninstall the sound driver. Restart the PC and if Vista tries to reinstall the sound driver, cancel it if you can and install the driver from this link. Even if you're not prompted, restart the PC. Hopefully, this will get the sound going for you.... Good Luck! and keep us posted!

Ok now you want me to do this assuming that I'm 3 days back or present time, Because I went ahead and went to present time after the restore didn't work. Anyways, I can't stop the driver from installing at start up. I can't figure out how to cancel it, I tried closing the window, hitting " x " nothing works..? It just automatically does it. Do you think my sound problem came from the RAM I installed in the computer? I wouldn't think so, but is there a chance? I know the day I put the ram in I noticed I was missing some screws on the bottom of the laptop like 2, and I went ahead and replaced them with some others, they might have been a tad bit long do you think I tightened them up to where they hit a board or something? I'm just trying to give all possibilities here. Thanks for all the help can't wait to here back from you.

Ok I went ahead and installed the link that you gave me and I'm still not getting any sound, but I am getting a noise from the speakers that I wasn't before. You know the noise you would get if you were going to restart or shutdown your computer. Like a click or quick pop sound ya know like they were getting turned off. I dunno figured I'd add to my last post.
