I don't know how to do that, maybe one of the wiz kids is going to be able
to help here. But if that external cd drive is in a case, you could take it
apart and it's very likely that you have a normal ide cd drive in there.
If you have an available front bay in that computer you could then just
install it like normal and the install would then go as usual.

more specs are needed, what OS are you trying to install? what motherboard? if it's a store bought the make/model number?

Most likely your issue is probably configuring the BIOS to boot from the USB CD drive, your BIOS may not support that. CGs suggestion would correct the problem.

Sorry to butt in, but that is department of defense. That means the drive
has been wiped really really clean.

There is only 1 IDE conn... to HD in the PC. Can I pigtail the IDE and hook up the CD to install? Am installing 2K pro for those who wanna know. The pc is a "leased, returned and sanitized prior to my buying it" type deal... no A drive. only "super disk" ??? sounds useless to me! the only i/o is 5 usb and l/r speaker inputs. THe mod # is DPS-91AB-3 A Rev. 1. If i dont/cant pigtail how else would I go avout installing the BIOS thru usb when I need the Bios in order to run the usb? Thanks again for the help! ~ Joel

If I recall correctly, the super disk drives were backwards compatible
with floppies. So you should be able to do a bios update.
As far as the motherboard goes, you say there is only one ide
connector on the motherboard? Can you read off of the motherboard
to see which model you have?
