Please help troubleshoot STOP 0x000000ED

Hi,
I am having Windows XP Professional on my laptop. Today, when I have started it, it showed me blue error screen with 'UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME' message.
The technical information in the message is as follows:
*** STOP: 0x000000ED (0x86306E30, 0xC000009C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

How to correct this problem ? Where can I find description of all the parameters and various values for the parameters for STOP: 0x000000ED ?

This can happen with faulty/dirty ram, or, other hardware
