Please help.. USB connect issue

    I have a problem connecting my ipod, which I might be in the wrong forum for.
    It will make the disconnect noise and when I connect it it makes this strange USB noise that has like four tones. It doesn't actually get connected either. It doesn't come up on my computer as a connected device or have the connected screen.
    I don't really think this is a USB problem really, just because I can connect my PSP just fine.

    I have Windows XP.

    Updated drivers, but nothing changed

    Hi

    Did you uninstall the drivers then reinstall? I have had similar in the past when you need to uninstall and re-install it over just updating, also try the steps here (not all of the steps are for you) http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1369
