Windows XP, not starting up after disk error check. I started with an older cleaned up desk top with windows XP. I Installed Chrome, Did disk clean up, then error check disk. It said that it would check for errors at next start up. I restarted computer. It got to four out of five passes. Then big air blue screen, could not get past it after four tries of restarting ( see attached) 824A98B0-6978-4FFF-B841-A7381725D688.jpeg . I need help please, I appreciate any help you can give. I need to use that computer :0(

    Thank you, Deborah a.k.a. wildflowergal

Do you have the Windows XP disk?

No I don’t Have the desk at all. Is there a way to get into the back end somehow. Did you see the attachment I added? And if so were you able to read it? When I restart, it gets stuck in the disk error checking mode and then goes to that bright blue page.

Without the Windows XP disk, or a disk with the same version of WinXP that's on the PC, you can't fix this installation.
Also, it is in all probability a failing HDD and trying to fix the installation will not help.

    Yes.

A simple Google search can verify. Space is 15 GB, so I tried to make the most of it. The Vista disc can be used for a virtual machine just like the others, and the install media chooses the correct version when you input the license key. Vista really was a good looking OS, I think.

VMs are fun. Plus, there is some old software that just doesn't work with W10...

I have some older software that might only run on a few generations back of osx. It's Neat Receipts software. I had to fight that company to give me the install file, after they quietly retired the software in favor of a cloud monthly subscription mode. Would be kind of nice if I could use a virtual machine to handle it. Then again not too much of an issue right now (since the OS is not too old) but could be in a couple of years.
