Is this a PCI firewire card or is it built into your PC or Laptop?

if a pre-built OEM PC from the likes of HP, Dell, Compaq then what is the make and model number as they most likely have the drivers.

if I remember right the drivers are on the XP cd... in Device Manager are their any yellow ! marks next to IEEE 1394 ? if so try using the add hardware wizard built into XP ( found in control panel )
