Please help with auto open My Documents window

I have not placed a request for help before since I feel that I learn more by fixing things by trial and error than any other way. Still, I cannot figure out this problem.

The Problem:

An open My Documents window loads with every start-up. I can't get it to stop (optimum solution) or at least program it to become invisible so that I don't know it's there!

The Facts:

Currently I have clean virus/spyware checks through 3 different programs.

1 am using an IMB T-20 laptop with updated software downloads.

I have Windows 2000 Pro loaded; also with current downloads.

I have a control panel utility which allows me to view all start-up modules (programs) and have tested removing them individually to no avail.

I have checked regedit for any references to My Documents and see none.

I don't think this is related, but in despiration for a solution I even removed the My Documents icon from my desktop.

Lastly, I have searched for "document" files and found no other .exe entries. Or anything else that appeared to be suspicious. Mainly what was in the search was the My Document icons for Desktop Architect.

Can someone PLEASE help me? I love a clean desktop and it's driving me crazy closing this window time after time!
