Please Help with Generic Viagra Spam how to stop this please

    Hey guys, sorry if this is wrong section or place to ask but maybe someone can help me. My forum just got bombarded with viagra spam, what can you advice me please what tools can i get to stop it? http://cheapsildenafildeals.com/images/cheap-generic-viagra.gif

    I was trying to google something about this but with no avail. Sorry to bother but really need some help with this.

    What forum software are you using?

    Do check with the developers to see if they have any spamfilter or captcha code you can add to try and limit the spammers from either signing up (in signing up see if you can set it so that a member has to click a link in a signup email to authorise the account) or the post being viewable to all members except admins and moderators.

    Your best bet is to check for some sort of addon/plugin for the forum software to do human checks for you. That should cut down on the amount of spam quite a bit.

    If you have programming experience though, you may be able to set something up. When I was running a forum, I just hacked in a new registration page, and removed the old one. It wasn't nearly as secure, but it got rid of all the spam.
