Hello. My name is Michael. Nice to meet all of you. I REALLY need someone's help! Let me start from the beginning.

On Thursday, I went to the Comcast Cable customer service office. I paid my bill and went ahead and signed up for their phone and internet service. I did the internet service installation, myself but ended up having to call their 1-800 number to get help. When I hung up, the high speed internet was working perfectly.

There are two computers in my house. My mother's and my own. My mother's computer is the one with the high speed internet modem and is working fine. REALLY FINE! Almost ORGASMIC fine! :D

We knew if I wanted to have the high speed internet, we would need a router. We got a router and it is Microsoft Broadband Networking Wireless-G Base Station MN-700. The back of the box said that we would need either Wireless USB Adapter MN-510 or Wireless PCI Adapter MN-730.

I went to Best Buy and they said that the AirStation WLI-U2-KG125S Turbo G wireless USB 2.0 Adapter was compatible with my base station. Therefore, I purchased the AirStation WLI-U2-KG125S Turbo G wireless USB 2.0 Adapter. I came home and hooked up & installed the Base Station to my Mom's computer and it said the network was working fine. It was now time to hook up and install the wireless USB adapter.

I went to my room and did both as instructed. I then found the network that belonged to my Mom's base station and connected to it. My computer stated I was connected to the network and I have been ever since. In fact I have Very Good Connection.

HOWEVER...you knew there was going to be one of those, didn't ya...I cannot get online no matter what I do. Can anyone help me? PLEASE?!?!?! confused I don't know what to do and I went to Best Buy's GeekSquad and a local computer fixing store and they both wanted to charge me before telling me ANYTHING.

I really need to get this working so that way I can stop using my Mom's computer and use my own.

Please reply to this post and if you need more information, just ask. Or if the board allows, you can e-mail me at wuonline@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Michael

PS: We are both using Windows XP Home Edition if that matters.

It is just that generic page on IE that says the page cannot be found because I'm not connected. :(

just shutdown the router connected to your mom's pc and re-boot everything including your pc, then once all is up and running on your moms, start yours and you should now be connected. when you want to get off DO NOT DISCONNECT otherwise you will go thru this again. I had the same problem with my pc and laptop.
