    Here is my problem:

I have a company laptop and since leaving the company I proceeded to delete any personal files from the hard drive. Unfortunately I simply deleted them from the Recycle bin and didn't use any shredder software.

Sooo...I've been trying to recover the files to then shred to make them unrecoverable. However, every data recovery program I have used seems to just make a copy of the file onto my HD again. Meaning the original deleted file is always still there and can be recovered by anyone who has the laptop after me.

I found one data recovery program that then let you wipe those files out completely which appeared to work. However after downloading a different recovery program to double check it had worked...it hadn't and that one actually found an awful lot more.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get them back but not copied to be able to make them completely unretrievable?

    Thanks in advance.

Yep. Use nCleaner. It has a free space shredder. It will scan the hard drive for space that is seen as free by Windows and it shreds it. Perfect for your scenario. Now you don't have to waste time recovering the stuff then shredding it....
