please help

I recently switch cases on my acer AST160-UA351H and not i have no video or beep at boot up the fans cd and hard drive all come on but i still get nothing on my screen please help me

 

The obvious is to first make sure you have all the necessary power connections to your motherboard and graphics solution.

Note that cases are designed to support 1000s of different motherboards. And while the ATX form factor standard defines case and motherboard mounting hole locations, it does not require the motherboard have a mounting hole in every location. This means there are typically many more mounting holes in the case than there are in the motherboard.

A common mistake is using a standoff in the case where there is no corresponding motherboard mounting hole, resulting in shorting out the board when power is applied. So, if you are certain you have connected all the cables properly, you need to pull the motherboard and verify you don't have any extra standoffs (or any other foreign objects) under the motherboard.

now all i get is a long steady beep and no video

 

then i added a stick of ram and it went away
