please help!!??

I seem to have a few issues , first let me state i do not know much about computers , a couple weeks ago an "IMINENT SEARCH ENGINE" was attached to my computer..i was able to remove it from my google chrome , however i still see parts running while in IE8...since i removed it , i can no longer double click on my desktop to open a program , any downloads will not open after downloading , when i want to open radar on weatherbug , it won't open...therefore when i tried to uninstall said weatherbug...i got error message saying "weatherbug installer requires VB scripting-enable VB script on computer". I am running windows xp pro on a refurbished dell i bought about a year ago , that up until recently was running sweet...i do have the reinstallation cd....any help would be much much appreciated!!! thanks!!

Have you recently downloaded and installed any software? Such toolbars don't just appear; they are usually bundled with some other program. Have you run any scans for malware?

 

Since you said you had a malware related issue recently, I suggest you go to http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 And see what the Jedi Masters have to say. We need to make sure the machine is clean.
