Please Help

Whenever I play this game, things similar to

and this

happen.

Im using an Nvidia Geforce MX/MX 400 32 mb with the latest drivers (although the latest one isnt whql signed or something, and it was happening before I upgraded as well) and have Direct X 9.0c.

When I downloaded the drivers from the site, I didnt uninstall the previous ones. It said they were upgrades.

How can I stop this from happening?

 

What is the game you are playing? That video card might not be good enough.

Its a game called RenAlert, which is a mod (well its more than a mod its a game in itself) for C&C Renegade. I dont experience these problems with Renegade, but I rarely play that now.

 

does it happen with any other games?

 

Those are the only two I have.

 

Check to see if there are updates for the game. it might be that you need a new patch.

 

Its all up to date and everything.

 

Might just be that a fan based mod is requiring more than the original game it is based off and is killing that graphics card.

 

Would closing background progrmas like Norton help?

 

I doubt closing Norton would help it at all. Your card is having a problem with advanced texture rendering as well as with pixel and vertice shaders. The drivers you have loaded are right, it's just a limitation of the video card you're using. Its just that I dont really have any money to spend on it. Thanks anyway though.

The thing is its fine to begin with, but after playing for some time, thats when it starts to act up and thats what I dont understand.

 

Maybe you should try installing another mod or borrowing a game from one of your friends and see if those mess up also, or if they play okay?

 

Well when I play Renegade it plays ok.

The specifications have been raised for this mod though.
