I just bought The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game for my PC. I use windows XP pro. serivice pack 2, pentium 3 730MHz, 126MB ram, I have directX 9.0c.

So I installed the game and everything was fine, but after watching all the starting movies and stuff, when I clicked new game, the loading screen comes up and then I get this error 'sb4.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

    >.< please help!!

sb4.exe is a program for steel/timber beam design when building a new house - why this should affect the game I have no idea.
Do you have this software on your PC - if so and you don't need it... remove it and try the game again.

I'm pretty sure that beyond what you think sb4 stands for, it is also the name of the program that is in fact spongebob the game... would make sense really.

Your PC sounds OK... What Graphics card have you got?
Does this happen all the time? Are you running any other processes at the same time?
Alternative try the manufacturers Website they may have a better idea - unless someone here does.
I don't really play games on the PC. Keep at it though :D

I mailed THQ and they replied saying :

Unfortunately there is a known issue with the graphics card you have installed. Please refer to the readme.txt for more information about troubleshooting the Intel 82810 Graphics Card. This game also requires 128 MB of system RAM to run and you only have 126 MB installed.

Please visit www.intel.com to make sure you have the most recent drivers installed for your Graphics card.

    hmpf. >.<
