Ever since I installed my Lexmark X4270, my computer has been booting up abnormally. When I turn the computer on it gets stuck on the Hewlett Packard screen that has the F1 (setup) and F10 options. It stays like that for approximately 5 minutes and then proceeds to boot up to Windows.

I have tried un-installing and re-installing the software, but nothing works. If I unplug the USB cord from the printer the computer boots up normal. Also if you turn on the printer before the computer it will boot normally.

I contacted Lexmark and they said to contact my computer manufacturer, because there must be a problem with the USB ports. I contacted my computer manufacturer and they passed me back to Lexmark!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhh yes....how many watts is your PSU, and what other system specs do you have.....this will tell us if it IS the PSU.....also...how much resources is the Printer taking up when you boot...for example...if your computer is trying to load a bunch of crap for the printer, that will slow your boot time down as well.

I could understand that if the computer were older, but it's only 2 years old.

    .

I don't know how many watts. This is actually for a friend that I'm trying to help. I don't have access to her computer at the moment.

It's a 2 year old computer. Shouldn't it's wattage be compatible with a printer? I also have a Lexmark and an HP computer and I've never had this problem.
