please someone help me im getting so frustrated!!!

    i have a toshiba laptop that wont recognise external media when i put in a disc from my sony dcr-dvd105e it reads the discs as blank and wants to burn media onto them rather than play whats already on them i am trying to use windows media player to play the discs (there is definatly video footage on the discs!!). Also when i connected my mp3 it would sync music onto it but said it was balnk but it wasnt it would only list the songs i had jus sync'ed im really stuck and getting really frustrated can anyone help me.

    Im sure someone will be able to help you eventually but in the meantime have you tried contacting Toshiba about it?

    Make sure you are finalizing the disc before trying to put it in the computer. With it being not finalized it will show up as blank media.

    Try a different media player, and make sure you have the right codecs installed

    k-lite mega codec pack will do both - install any needed codecs and give you an an alternative player in media player classic

    What version of Windows Media Player are you using? Try updating to the latest version of Windows media player (current version for XP is 11). If that doesn't solve the problem, could be a number of other things that could be causing the problem. The fact that you mentioned that you're having problems syncing mp3's, could have a driver issue. Check Device Manager for any items that show up with an exclamation or question mark. To do this Go to My Computer, click on File, Properties, and click on the Hardware tab, and click on Device Manager.
