Plextor 716 DVD Writer

Having a few problems - whenever i try to burn an audio CDR, most times (not every - about 7 out of 10) it will fail with "no seek complete" error in nero 6 just after writing the lead in.

I have used 2 different types of media - TDK and Infiniti.

The drive was only installed yesterday brand new - and worked fine yesterday.

Is it going to be a defective drive - or something im missing

Buffer underrun is disabled, I'd look into that. Also, Nero have patches available at their site, try that too, then get in touch with Plextor themselves, (try a google for plextor online forum or support etc)

 

New firmware 1.08 shouldnt hurt http://www.plextor.be/technicalserv...6A_versions.asp?choice=DVD-Recorders#716A-107

I doubt there is much risk involved but you could of course find those CDR/DVD forums to check for how popular 1.08 is for that model.
