Plz Help: IE7.0 Freezes w/ Error Message

Hi, I've tried everything I know to try and fix this problem, including your suggestions for running specific programs for cleaning/fixing. None have helped.

The Environment: WindowsXP Prof.Sp2, AMD Athlon 64 Proc 3800+, IE7.0, 2GRam, Firewall = CA Security Center w/ CA Anti-Virus, CA nti-Spyware & CA Anti-Spam (and other antispyware programs trying to eliminate this problem)

The Problem Symptoms: IE7.0 freezes after only one, two or sometimes three pages are opened at the same time, or so it seems. I get the error reporting message, "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry ... If you were in the middle of something ... and etc." During this time, the IE page that failed is usually a white blank page and the cursor, when placed on the page is a hanging hour glass. When I click on "Don't Send" it will eventually close the application. Sometimes I go into Task Manager and close the dumprep.exe file just to speed things up. I've recently installed a free version of Skype and Surfulator. This problem doesn't occur sometimes. It occurs every time I try to use IE7.0. I'm in "normal" start up mode at this time.

What I've Done To Resolve The Problem Thus Far: I've run Spy-botSD, Ad-Aware, Registry Mechanic, Spyware Doctor, StopZilla, my CA Anti-Virus, AVG, Sophos Anti-Rootkit, Spyhunter, SuperAntiSpyware, Windows Defender, and Track Eraser Pro. (Yes, I purchased several of those just for this problem.) I've run your suggested combofix, CCleaner, & MGTools. I've reviewed my HJT file and combofix file, but am not a computer diagnostician and am not clear on everything in either file. Additionally, I've uninstalled and reinstalled IE7.0. I've uninstalled it again and then installed my original version of IE 6.X (.5 I think) and it still occurred. I upgraded then to IE7.0 and it still occurs. I ran the latest upgrade to JAVA VM. I was behind one version. There may have been a few other things that I've tried, but that is the most of it. I am presently using Mozilla FireFox as my browser which is how I am able to type this in and send it. I've now got more antispyware than can be run at the same time, but perhaps running scans with each of them occasionally will help to prevent a reoccurance of something like this. I've also tried changing various settings within IE7.0, such as "bugging/debugging", cookies, cleaned my cache quite a few times and other such things. Oh, and I did a restore of my registry fixes, just in case I deleted something from the registry that needed to be there. Thx again for any assistance you may provide. jdp

Thanks Lev and Steve. I should have mentioned that I already followed the instructions on the "Read & Run Me First" thread, except for running all the programs in the "Special Removal Procedures" because I do not have a name for the virus/trojan/worm/etc., assuming it is one of those. It was thru "R&RMF" that I found and ran combofix.exe and MGtools.exe. I was already familiar with Spybot & AVG and have used them for years. It was after doing all the items in "R&RMF" that I produced the HJT and combofix logs. I may have already posted this in Malware, as I wasn't exactly certain which forum to include this in. I'm trying to cover all the bases.
