    Hi!

I'm from sweden and my english is somewhat limited, so please try to make it simple. Thanks! :)

    I have a p4 2ghz 80gb hdd with windows xp sp2

My problem is that when a guest logging in to the "guest account" the comp locked up and I had to restart it by turning off the power. Then when starting up I choose safe mode and restarted without problems. But then the menu with safe mode came up again...so I went with normal but then the computer locked up again and didn't even get to the log in in menu. So I restarted again manually and tried to restore the comp from a previous date, I choosed 2 days earlier. Didn't help at all.... :(

So I went with safe mode again and checked the controll panel -> system -> ??unit manager?? and there it said that PnP BIOS extension drivers failed to initiate (spelling).

Now I wonder what to do? Should I just uninstall it and let windows "fix it" it self or update the drivers (can't find where) or do I even have to formate the harddrive to reinstall XP?

    I'm currently in safe mode...

    Please help!

Go into setup, [bios] choose default settings and lets see what that does, have you done a bios flash update? ed

So I have choosed default settings and nothing changed it still locks up.

No bios update has been made.

When I start up in safe mode this comes up right before the log in screen: "Press Esc to cancel loading d347bus.sys...." and if I don't press esc it locks up...?

No, sorry that didn't help. I couldn't find such option as stated in the article...

Though I sort of think what could cause the problem. Daemon tools doesn't work and when I re-install it the PnP BIOS extension problem apear again.

But I don't understand whats causing it though...what is PnP BIOS extension?
