PNY GeForce 5600 Ultra AGP

    I have installed this card in my system and I think that it will suit my needs quite well.

    However, I have noticed that the fan on the card does not always spin. It seems to kick on only when the card is being "worked" such as when the screen saver comes on, or a game is started.

    This seems like reasonable normal operation for power savings, but I just want to make sure.

    Can anyone advise?

    As long as the card is not heating up and you are still getting a video signal there should be nothing to worry about.

    FYI: I found out from PNY support and the nvidia forum that this is indeed normal operation for this card.
