Anyone on here ever tried playing poker online? I've got a bit of a taste for it but need some tips about my game and about where to do it.

I only play offline. No limit. Found I can win ten thou is 3 hands but can lose ten thou just a quick. Only play for real with friends live. Dollar bet dollar raise dealer's choice.

I like Texas Hold 'em but never played for real money. Don't know enough people who play it to get a game up. Good luck!

 

Thanks Imandy Mann, that's helpful. You're right about winning and losing just as quickly, it takes one hell of a lot of skill and a little bit of luck to keep ahead. I don't know how well I'd do online compared to real life as I think my skill lies in reading people rather than watching betting patterns, but it may be worth a punt.

 

I play online at fulltilt, but only with fake money. Like Imandy alluded to, the quick wins can give an adrenaline rush that can cause you to lose money very quick. I know from personal experiences about this... since I live in Vegas.
