Poor Audio on PC

    Novice question: I have a PC -Pentium3 with XP home/sp2 that is "sputtering" the playback of audio cd's. The CD play fine in my other equipment - no pops, cracks, etc. Just don't know where to begin. :eek:

    Any help would be appreciated..
