    Hi,

I could use a lil help, please. I just bought a very nice, new laptop. It's an Asus K53E DS51. It has an I5 chip, & Win7 premium.

I'm very happy w/it,overall. The problem is. I bought it specifically to edit personal skydiving videos. It plays those back horribly :cry... I don't understand why. I've seen really beat up laptops at the DZ, which all play fine.

Blue Ray quality vids shot w/one of my cameras look pixelated, & bland (non-vibrant colors). Vids shot w/a GoPro @1080P look not as pixelated, but VERY washed out/over-exposed. I don't get it. I'm assuming it must be be a driver issue. Rather than have to reinvent the wheel. I'm hoping someone here will recognize the symptoms.

The laptop is brand new. When I fired it up. I updated everything that was prompted by the OS. There were 86 updates performed.

While I'm at it. If someone could post the link to the Window's 7 page w/all the useful cleaning utilities. That'd be great, too.

    Thank You,

    Kenny

    Greetings, Born2Late...

I suggest a video driver re-installation - I know you're probably up to date, but you never know. I'd point you to the correct download but I don't know if your architecture is 32-bit or 64-bit. Here's the ASUS driver page if you want to plug in your specifics - grab and install the latest driver package, see if you get a change in symptoms.

By the way: I jumped for 10 years (U.S. Army 1974-'85), had a blast. Interested in seeing your videos if you've posted them anywhere. :major

And, as far as the Win 7 cleaning utilities: did you mean the MajorGeeks page? If so, then look here (in my opinion #1 on that page is CCleaner).

Hi, & Thank You. I'll try your suggestions this weekend. As for my jump videos, I haven't shot any, yet. These are my first cameras. I'm going to start flying them next season. I only have vids others have shot of me.

Why not find a DZ in your area, & see just how much the sport has progressed? It doesn't have to hurt anymore ;-P...
