port/firewall/router problem

I have recently started using telus for my internet server. I have been using utorrent for awhile and since i have hooded up telus there is an issue with ports being open. Apparently they are not open, I get a message that a firewall is impeding others ability to connect to me and I have turned the firewall off, still not working. I do the port forward test and it says the port is not open. utorrent says that a "firewall/router is limiting your network traffic open up a port so others can connect to you" In theory this sounds great, however nothing I do works. I am running on XP, and until hooking up with telus i have no problems.....any help would be awesome!!:confused

 

Have you a router to get on the internet?
Go to http://www.portforward.com/ put in your router name, page comes up ,scroll down the page till you get to utorrent click on the name.there a box to put your port number in which you should have from utorrent then read the instructions

unfortunatly mine is not listed so that just doesnt work, any other idea's? I have a Gigaset SE567

 

I am naving the exact same problem with my conceptronics router. Windows firewall is set to allow Azureus, but i still get NAT problems, so I assume its my router blocking incoming connections. Any useful info about port forwarding for the router is in Spanish ARGH!!! Im a total noob when it comes to this sort of stuff, so any simple info on how to open a port on the router will be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance
