    Hi,

Just had fiber optic connection installed. I have a new FiberHome AN5506-04-FG router. I need to open a port for my p2p to be connectable. Port-forward site has no instructions for this specific router, the FiberHome models they do show have a different GUI than my router uses. My router settings has no port forward tab, only thing close is NAT where custom rules can be made, yet I see none of the options in there I would need to open a port for my purposes. Screenshots attached.
NAT pull-down menu options are: One to One/Many to One/Many to Many overload/Many to Many no overload/Server

Searched all over internet, very little info on this model router is available, let alone tutorials for port forwarding..

Can anyone point me in the right direction or give instructions?

    Comp HP 622, Win 7 Ult x64, 8Gb RAM
ISP Axartel, Valez Malaga, Spain, 60MBdown/6MBup fiber optic

    Thanks

Have you considered calling FibreHome's Europe Customer Service Centre? I'm sure they could walk you through it.

    Hi,
Well that certainly put a smile on my face.
I am in Spain and thus under the new restrictive EU torrent/streaming laws. What you suggest would be like asking a bank for the combination to their safe. They will assume you have criminal intentions.
So please, if anyone can walk me thru the port forward process on this router I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not a solicitor but unless you are intending to download illegally pirated content, then the use of P2P software is not in itself illegal. But if that's what you are doing, you'll get no help here with that.
No one who doesn't have that model of router can 'walk you through it' since - as you say and also when I was searching - you can't fnd an online manual for your exact model.
The FibreHome Europe Customer Service Centre is actually based in India, so if you wanted as a customer to speak with them, that's where your call would be going.

By the way, EU laws on downloading copyright material hasn't changed at all. It has always been illegal to infringe copyright, ie to share copyrighted material. The only change has been to include streaming pirated material via a device (eg Kodi) as illegal.

As well as the above, it is not the role or power of a router manufacturer to enforce or in any way 'police' the use of its equipment.
It is your Internet Service Provider that has legal obligations around suspected p2p sharing infringements, not FibreHome.

    Hi,
I release my own music compositions on Demonoid and a few other sites, which is perfectly legal. But I need to seed my new uploads until there are enough other seeders to keep it going. Thus the need for an open port.
I will check with the mfg as you suggest.
    Thread finished.
    Thanks.
