help i am trying port forwarding and my dns nubers are the same as the default gateway. i tried accessing my router to get the actual dns with no luck i called time warner and was unsuccessful. while on the phone with t.w. i gave my ip address which starts with 192 and was told this is not a good number we ran through some config functions trying to uptain a new number after reseting it it still came up with the 192 number. i use utorent and am trying to fix a slow connection problem any advise would be appreciated as always. thanks. jrok:confused:confused

If your using a personal router, then 192.x.x.x is a fine number. Time warner probably wont support that combo and doesn't relise you have a router.

May be you want to expiian better what you are trying to do.

There is No apparent relation between port forwarding and DNS.

Not sure why you are trying to port forward but TW is looking for your WAN ip addy not your LAN nor your LAN default gateway addy. Are you trying to reconfigure the DNS settings on your cable/dsl modem to find a DNS server closer to you or what exactly are you trying to port forward traffic to on your LAN please reply with more details.
