Port Forwarding isnt working....

Ok im using a linksys router and am attempting to forward port 6881. Well i have done so as i need to in the UDP protocol and im still getting a NAT error. Then it occured to me! ah the SP2 firewall ok. So i go disable taht and it still isnt working. Ok screw it i disabled all firewalls and it still doesnt work. I even disabled virus/worm protection and no dice. The only thing thats weird is sometimes the windows firewall is displaying as on in the security center but when i click on it it is labeled as off. Very confused as to why. Please help.

 

Update I have turned off everything i can think of virus protection and run a port scan to find only the reserved ports unlocked. Im at my wits end.

 

What happens when you forward TCP as well as UDP? BitTorrent uses both TCP and UDP protocols on port 6881, for example.

 

Same. I cant open any ports. Period. 6881 doesnt work nor does any other port. I have turned all firewalls off so technically i shouldnt have to open anything but still its not working. Something is wrong.

 

What are you using to determine that it's not being forwarded? Tried a port scan?

 

One more thing....set a static IP on your PC and forward the ports to that IP.
