    Hi all

I was online the other night when i tried to open Firefox , somehow it got stuck in a loop and opened about 80 pages, i managed to close the group and didnt pay much attention to it, later on it happened again however when I managed to close the pages down somehow my system configuration utility screen came up on my desktop and it rebooted my machine.

When i came back ontop my desktop the configration confirmation box was up but it wouldnt let me close it down, It would go into a complete loop and reboot my system, i eventually managed to get into my system tools folder and restored my system to a earlier saved day and touch wood I have had no problems with that issue again.

However today whilst playing WOW my screen started to play up with 5 vertical lines running down my screen, I can remove those lines by doing a refresh, i have re-installed the drivers for my graphics card and have spoken to people who think it might just be my graphics card over heating but im worried incase i have a virus from the previous night ,i have run a virus and adware check and they all came up clear.I have ran a Hijackthis check can any of you please give me some help i would really appreciated it.

Your HJT log looks pretty clean, and viruses generally don't cause vertical lines to run thru your display. It seems to me you have a hardware problem or perhaps a thermal problem (overheating). Download and run a memory diagnostic (several are available free here at MG). Run it for at least 2-4 hrs to get a good idea of stability. During this period you can also see if the PC overheats... there are also several 'burn-in' tests that will test all hardware (RAM, CPU, HD, etc) for stability and integrity.....
