possibilities of this video card

I recently recieved this video card : Gigabyte GV-R96X128D ATi Radeon 9600 XT 128MB DDR AGP 8X

after i fixed my buddy's computer (card is new in box).

I know its got the 360 core and i hear that people softmod 9800Pro cards with r360 cores to 9800XT, would i be able to do this? Or will i only be able to flash the bios and put a version with overdrive on it?

 

If your VGa card have the same core with 98xxx you can flash bios of 98xxx. DL flash bios from Ati Webside but I am not sure not all cards can be flash

 

I know this card can be flashed, i read it on a review site, although i was wondering if it could handle BF2 (had to ship my 6600 back since it was a factory defect, i just got my money back instead of an exchange )... If it cant handle BF2 as well as my Geforce FX 5200 AGP 128mb 256 bit ill stick with my 5200.

 

Ok its got an RV360 core 0.13 micron, so would this card be able to take the mod or would i need an R360 core?

 

you've got to make sure you check what memory chips it has too

 

Its got Samsung 328" the chip itself says "Samsung 328, K4D263238E-GC2A, WVF087PVA Korea"

Also, I'm sure you're familiar with google

Keep in mind that you are going to have to overclock it to XT speeds and that will take awhile. Don't just flash your card, if your card can't handle XT speeds, like you will see artifacts and other junk. And I'm sure you already know that you can kill your card doing so, and at the very least, you will significantly shorten it's life span.
