Hi. I'm having real problems with my HP Pavillion dv5000z notebook, and HP support is worthless. The computer is only two months old. About a month ago I started experiencing major slow downs of my computer. Everything took forever, and the sound started getting extremely choppy. My boot time went from like a minute to 5-10 min. After three calls to HP, someone finally told me it had to do with my primary IDE channel switching from DMA to PIO mode. I was told to uninstall the channel and reboot. This seemed to work, however it turned out to only be temporary. The slow downs have continued to happen, usually when using some kind of media on the internet or stored on my computer, or when running multiple programs. Along with the slow downs come several events in the system event viewer:

I also just ran a physical disk benchmark test with Sandra Lite, and it said the drive index was 1058 kb/s. I don't want to reinstall windows if i don't have to, especially b/c i think this may be a hardware problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
