Possible Memory Leak?

I've only got 4 GB of RAM, I know, I need more, I'll get more, it's on the list, but if I don't reboot for maybe 2 or 3 days (I know, I know, don't not do that), even though I don't run any real memory hogs, I start getting warnings from Windows that I'm running low on memory.

Is there any diagnostic software I can run to investigate this?

Incidentally, for what it's worth, when I reboot there's always a pause while it shuts down background programs, and just before it's done, it says it's waiting for "Talk Host" to terminate. What IS that?

It takes 5 hours to check the available memory? I understand that this program does a stress test on RAM, but that seems like a very long time, but I know very little about such things, so maybe that's needed. Recently though IObit SystemCare got installed on my machine by IObit Uninstaller, and for what it's worth, it instantly started showing in the upper right-hand corner of my center screen a little display that shows my RAM usage bouncing around at 55% ± 1%.

You need to have a look at all those unnecessary Startups and Services, as already mentioned in your other thread.
Use WinPatrol which will allow you to see only non-Microsoft services. Leave the Microsoft/Windows services alone.

This is a bit of a bewildering array to me, Eldon, where do you think I should start?

Only you know what you use your PC for and what you need.
I will start with all those updaters. Rather use a program like SUMo and have it check for updates once a month.
You have 3 RealNetworks and 3 Apple startup entries. Set them to Manual in Services - they will start when needed.
Do 3 services at a time, make a note, restart the PC, and look if there are any issues with those programs.

I only found TWO entries in Services for RealNetworks: RealPlayer Update Service, which was running and set to Automatic at Startup, and RealTimes Desktop Service, which was NOT running but was also set to Automatic at Startup. I stopped RealPlayer Update Service, and set both to Manual at Startup.

I found three entries for Realtek: RealtekCU, RealtekWlanU and Realtek DHCP Service. Since that's for a wireless network adapter that I no longer use, I stopped them all and set them to Manual at Startup.

I only found ONE entry for Apple: Apple Mobile Device Service. How that got there I have no idea, since the only mobile device I have is a laptop I haven't even ever used yet. Anyway, it was running and set to Automatic at Startup, so I stopped it and set it to Manual.

So I'll see how that goes after I reboot and wait a day or so.

Also, I downloaded Sumo from KC Software, but when I started to install it, Avira said it was adware. I figured that was a false positive, but I thought I'd get your thoughts on that before following through with the installation, just in case.

Here the different downloads are explained.
Always click the green button and you'll not have to worry about anything else downloading.

After installing SUMo, you'll see 2 additional shortcuts on the Desktop which are links to download other KC Softwares' programs - they can be deleted.

I downloaded and installed SUMo as instructed, but even though I clicked on the green button to download the "lite" version (without sponsors), when I installed it I also got installed DUMo (driver updater) and KCleaner (computer cleaner). Are these useful enough to keep?

Also, upon rebooting, Wise Care 365 said it was time for an update (which I put off for the moment), and it said that one of the improvements made to the new version is it "fixed memory leak in some cases". I wonder if THAT could be part of my memory problem?

No idea how you ended up with those additional KC programs since the green lite version download of Sumo definitely does not offer them. I just went through a test download of that program.
And since you already have multiple drive cleaners on your system, you don't need KCleaner and I doubt you need Dumo either.

    They did not get installed.
