Hi, I have a general question about a change that took place for my start up options: my computer started connecting to MSSQLserver and running sql service on start-up. I am using windows XP if that makes any difference and prior to today I've never noticed this happen before. I didn't change any configurations or anything so I don't know what prompted the change. I also have no idea what sql service is. Is this anything I should be worried about?

It is a home/personal laptop. The last thing that I (knowingly) installed on it was a lexar flash drive. With the drive came "Dmailer_for_lexar_v7_0_334.exe" which I imagine is what was used to establish the flash drive connection. Also, in task manager when no applications are running sqlmangr.exe sporadically goes between 0 and 1 percent of CPU usage.

I disabled the sql services and my computer is running significantly smoother.. How do I uninstall services?
