    Hi guys,

My Symantec Antivirus sent me a note that a Trojan Horse virus entered my PC. In the virus history it said that the Trojan was in my Temporary Files and No action had been taken.

When I scanned my PC again, nothing showed up.

I downloaded Hi jack this and copied the results below. could you please read it and tell me if the Trojan virus is active on my laptop?

    Thank you,

Possible Virus (cont.) hi jack log per Abby Sues request

    Abby,

Firstly, thank you for your help. I went through each step of the traditional virus removal process that you gave me before. ( The hyperlink that I see quite a bit)

I was not able to boot in safe mode.

When I ran the several different spyware downloads, none of them found a trojan horse virus, however:

1- Spybot continues to find a DSO Exploit (which I can scan, find DSO, fix it, scan again, and it comes back)

2- Every time i try to reboot, I keep getting a message that says "No boot sector on hard disk, press F1 to retry"
sometimes it works when i retry, sometimes it doesn't.

3Another message I get at reboot is, "Primary disk drive 0 not found"

I have attached, per your request, a Hi Jack This log.

Can you pleae help me get rid of this problem?

    Thank you,

    DJGEN

    AbbySue,

Thank you, however, the thread that you replied to me is the process I already went through and I am still having a few problems like:

1- Spybot continues to find a DSO Exploit (which I can scan, find DSO, fix it, scan again, and it comes back)

2- Every time i try to reboot, I keep getting a message that says "No boot sector on hard disk, press F1 to retry"
sometimes it works when i retry, sometimes it doesn't.

3 Another message I get at reboot is, "Primary disk drive 0 not found"

I attached a Hi Jack this log in the appropriate format. Can you read it and decifer what else i can do?

I am truly lost right now.

    Thank you,

    Marketmanohyeah

Get this update for Spybot - Spybot - Search and Destroy DSO Exploit Fix

You need to locate HijackThis in a directory as we specified. You have it running from a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings. Also remember to shutdown unnecessary applications before scanning.

Are you running more that one virus check application?
