Ok, I am suspecting that I may have some trojan on my computer. The other day, Ad-aware picked up a trojan file on my system, but could not remove it because it was of course in use. So I restarted and rescanned my system with Ad-aware. It didn't find anything. So I thought, ok, I'll run a virus scan. So I opened PC-cillin and ran a scan. Nothing was found. I stopped worrying thinking everything was probably ok.

Today I discovered something though. I went into my network places, and discovered users! I could view folders and files and everything! And imagine they probably can view mine. I'm not happy at this point. I tried some trojan software from the site here, and none of them seemed to have found anything. I'm goin to upload three pictures of what I am seeing in my network places.

Disable NETBIOS. If you have a network, you'll have to use IP addys to connect to your PC's.

Grab a trojan scanner from the front page too.

you can also remove those connections by selecting and hitting delete on the keyboard or right click delete.. either will do.

already tried that...said nothing was found. thanks though!

I did however realize that UPnP was enabled so I disabled the service. Any other ideas?

what exactly is netbios used for? it doesn't seem to do anything since i can surf the web without it.

it is for browsing for PC's via their name on a network. With out netbios, you can see what pc's are in your workgroups.
