Postmaster etc.

I'm sure someone on here has experienced a similar problem. If so, I'd be real grateful if you could help me. Why did I get 300 e-mails today telling me that some e-mail I'm trying to send failed to reach the recipient. It's almost like someone has hijacked my e-mail address and is sending spam with it.
I've got Spam Blocker but that ain't doing jack! Do I need to close down that e-mail address? Any suggestions/remedies gratefully received. Don't know what I would do without this site. Thanks again.

 

Some of those could be scams/viruses. I had one the other day that had a virus attached. Don't know how I got it since I am super protected.

I'd say your email address has been stolen. I believe spoofing is the term.

As a rule its a bad idea to actually use webmaster/postmaster addresses, and even worse to use catch-all because they are SO easy to spoof.

 

Goldy, can you further explain to us what we should do to reduce the possibilty of nasty people spoofing our email addresses.

I am sure it would be of great interest to many MG 'ers and visitors. Bazza
