    SUP GUYS!!,
    I am back on here after years of being absent so that you may help me out with my computer build in 2011! yay!! :D

    Now lets down to business... :major

    Please reference this site here: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=compatibility_gen&products_id=34&lng=en#LGA1366_Gigabyte

    (This will help with the issue at hand because I WANT to use this CPU cooler)

    Mobo = G1.Sniper
    RAM = Corsair Vengence DDR
    Computer Case = Thermaltake Armor Case (Original)
    CPU Cooler = Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler

    Direct Issue at hand:

    I need to figure out if I will have any issues fitting the G1.Sniper mobo into my case as well as trying to figure out if I can use my Corsair Ram on the G1.Sniper with the Noctua NH-D14 installed on the G1.Sniper Board... ( Side-note I have noticed that this MASSIVE CPU cooler sticks out kinda far so I would also like to know if my case is large enough and I DO have a Full Tower HUGE-JASS case).

    I read on the support page that the Noctua NH-D14 leaves clearance for the RAM slots on the G1.Sniper ( the list gives a green check mark next to the board) which is really nice ! , but in that list it states that my RAM is not compatible... But says the G1.Sniper is compatible -_- .... hmmm

    The great thing about the G1.Sniper is that it provides a RARE 6 Ram slots instead of 4 slots only which may help me out because I have two DDR3 Kits of 8GB so 16GB total and 4 sticks... please someone help me with this... "Dabacal" (<--- Fail)

    Please help me figure this out... I'm scared.

    The CPU cooler you have chosen is H U G E. It is the largest air cooler on the market today. Personally, I have NOT used the D14H, but I am very familiar with it from reading reading the reviews online. I don't want to burst your bubble, but you can achieve similar or better cooling in a MUCH smaller package for about the same price by going with an enclosed liquid system like the Corsair H50 or H70, or the new H80.

    However, since the above items have already been ordered, there's not much we (or anyone) can do for you :( A bit more research more "locking in" the buy is always prudent. The G1 Sniper mobo is fairly new which explains why it isn't listed on the Noctua compatibility list for monster D14H. These things take some time to get caught up.

    (BTW - no offense intended, but what does this $400 motherboard offer that a $200 motherboard doesn't offer? why spend close to $100 on an air cooler when a $60-$80 liquid cooler is equal or better? I've researched CPU coolers on an almost neurotic level and have never found any reason to buy the Noctua NH-D14; yeah, it's perhaps the best air cooler, but for less money you can get an equal/better liquid cooler, or for A LOT less money you can get a different air cooler that cools to within 3-5c of the NH-D14, three or five degrees celsius is very little unless you're going for a record, and if that's the case you should be using a copper cooling pot and LN2; as to the mobo- I didn't do much research on the G1 Sniper, but from the bit I saw, it seems -to me- that a very similar board could be had for under $250; again- no offense is intended by any of my thoughts here - perhaps I can be enlightened ;) )

    I waited too long to edit - the phrase above "A bit more research more locking in the buy" should (obviously) read "A bit more research before locking in the buy" . . . OOOOPS :-o

    The G1.Sniper is on the list :p

    But my RAM seems like it may be too big? ( FAIL) by the way I did something weird... I have another CPU cooler waiting for me :)... a Cooler Master V6 GT or w.e . I bought that one before I purchased the other cooler and have it waiting to be used JUST in case I fail :(.

    I really want this gigantic cooler to work so I can OC my i7 970 to INSANE ( Slightly above normal speed) :)

    Now as for the G1.Sniper ... I want that board for two reasons only... Killer NIC and on-board Sound blaster card, they both prove useful to me right now. other then that the board can kiss my butt ( watch it arrive DOA :D )

    Anyways if anyone else can provide more insight... I am wondering if I can get that freaking huge CPU cooler to fit in my Thermaltake Armor case with the 200m fan on the side. -_- hmmm

    dlb I am going to take your advice and possibly go for the corsair h100 but downside is I need a new case because the Thermaltake is... and oddly enough too small for it/ can not accomadate the h100 or even the The Noctua because of the side fan :mad: talk about a case that wasnt really meant to keep up with the times... So now I will try and get the Corsair Obsidian I think... 800 case... really nice case!
