power caliberation error

I have sony DVD-writer, my dvd writer start giving strange problem(power caliberation error) what is it, how to solve it, i have freshly installed my XP sp2 and using Nero 9, i also tried DVD cloner application but it didn't work:-o. Any way resolve it plz tell me iam not in a position to buy a new one, already spent 5 lakhs for my treatment so can't afford any expenses now:-o

A power calibration error basically means the DVD drive is going bad. There really is no remedy but to get a new one.

I suppose you could look for a firmware update for your model number but it is unlikely it will do any good.

Save the money that will be wasted on "burn failed" DVDs and put it towards a new burner. I don't know if you get Lite-On burners over there but they are generally cheap and reliable.
