Power DVD won't uninstall?

Hey, I did something stupid thinking that Oldversion had free versions of Powerdvd but they are still free trial, but I tried to remove it, the computer open a frame that says the 'installsheild wizard will....setup'. Isn't that supposed to say uninstall? anyway, it disappears from the screen but there is a tab on the bottom, & it just took forever so I thought it wasn't doing anything (but the computer sounded like it was working). Am I being impatient? I went throught all the files, which I stupidly didn't put in a folder, & there isn't one for uninstall! So I'm kinda wonderin'.....

You may have been a bit impatient. Windows installer will bring up a second screen (and sometimes it WILL take a while) giving you the options of repairing or uninstalling the application. You would then choose uninstall.

The only problem with using Windows Add/Remove programs is that remnants are frequently left behind.

I and others at these forums use Revo Uninstaller (freeware) which deletes those remnants.

 

Hey, I've uninstalled lots of programs & it's never taken so long...But I'm going to try again right now. I don't need my computer for the next 4 hrs, so we'll see. I'm wondering if it's because the files are spread all over the external drive & a few in the C drive instead of being in one neat folder.....
