    Hi,
I was typing an email and my electricity went out for about 10 seconds or so. It came back on and the computer (which is a Dell laptop on a docking station) never came back on. I had to start it up again.

I never got any messages telling me that anything was shut down incorrectly and somehow the battery didn't seem to have kept the computer on.

Can anyone tell me anything about this or make any suggestions as to what happened or if I can somehow retrieve the email even though I hadn't gotten as far as saving it.

    Is it somewhere????

Unless you were using Outlook or Outlook Express WITH the autosave every minute option on. Or if you were using Microsoft WORD, if you reopen word, it'll usually have your old document on a temp file.

Auto save and backing up often are your best bets. Good Luck!
