power supply problem

    I have a GeForce 6100sm-m2 motherboard,i buy new psu..topower 500pm...i connected the 24 pin connector to receptacle but on this psu i dont have a 4 pin 12 volt connector,just 2,6,8 i use onboard video. 1.do i need to connect the 12 volt if i dont use pci express card? 2.when i turn on unit my fans go on but no responce to monitor(older monitor) but monitor works on my p4?

    From a quick look at the motherboard it needs a 4pin 12v cable to power the CPU. You need a power supply with that connector or the CPU will not get sufficient power.
