This is my first time using this forum so please bear with me...

Since thursday my computer has been turning itself off, and I have determined that it is not overheating. It is a 4 and a half year old computer, but it has been running fine. Last year I replaced the motherboard when the heat sink fell off the CPU.

But now, if I try to restart the computer after it turns off, on the first, i guess, DOS loading screen, I get this error

"Hardware Monitor found an error. Enter Power Setup menu for details"

When I go there, the +3.3V line, the number beside it is in red, and its much lower than 3.3. I also use Lavalys Everest for computer sensors, and when I first turn the computer on, it starts around at a normal 3.26 and proceeds to drop to around 2.4 or so over 15-20 minutes at which point the computer turns itself off.

I do have a feeling its the power supply finally dying, but I am not very knowledgable about computer hardware so it would be nice to get some other opinions on this.

I have not installed any new hardware or software recently, I have not changed any settings. The computer is as it has been for the past year.

If there is any info or specs that are needed, just ask.

I'd be very appreciative on any help and/or suggestions.
    Thanks

Power supply is very easy to replace ....400 watt for around $40 .....always good to upgrade incase you do add additional hardware ....

Oh, and yes....your ps is dying!

Yep have to agree with Tim the "Old" PSU is DEAD. A good rule of thumb is that the actual voltage should not be less or more than the stated voltage by 0.25 Volts. Like Tim said there the easiest things to swap out, and the replacement ones are far superior to the OE ones. Welcome to Major Geeks and hope we helped

I too agree, it's time to ditch the old ps and get a new one!
