    Hello,
If I am posting in wrong area, please let me know!
I have a HP Compaq Pressario that doesn't turn on anymore. The last time I cleaned it, I used pressurized air and I think I messed up the fan with the air. I no longer heard the fan after cleaning it. I think the computer overheated because it started just shutting off. I would turn it back on and it would just shut off again after a few minutes. The last time I did this, nothing. It does nothing except blink the lights for about 1 second and that is it. Should I take it to a shop and get an estimate or, should I just replace the Power Supply. I'm kinda on a budget. Can I test the Power Supply myself or perhaps take to an electronics store?
Thank you, Thank you! Thank you!

    Greetings, slick58...

I would agree: all signs seem to point toward the PSU - any competent computer shop should be able to verify with a simple plug-in load tester...

PSUs are fairly cheap and easy to replace - we can certainly walk you through the process, should you need help...

Good luck, and keep us posted...

You say quote (I think I messed up the fan with the air) What fan are you speaking about because these symptons could well be overheating, so was it your CPU fan ??
