I have an older computer and was wondering if it would be wise to do some preventive maintence on it and maybe change the Power supply on it. Is this a good idea? I had a friend that had his power supply go bad and fried his computer..
    What is your opinion?
    Thanks

Unless you've overclocked your computer or tampered with it otherwise, leave it be unless you've got reason to believe your PSU is going to fail on you.

IF by maintinenece you mean hire Dr. Can-O-Compressed Air, then yes thats fine (prolly tons of dust in it). A PSU should only be needed if you think its going to fail, or your not getting enough power out of it and its choking your computers performance.
